Introduction of the recipe
Ingredients

Bhetki mach (barramundi fish)

Salt
·
Mustard seeds
·
Poppy seeds
·
Fresh coconut(grated)
·
Green chilies
·
Turmeric powder
·
banana leaf (cut into rectangles)
·
mustard oil
Method
2. Now make a smooth
paste of mustard seeds, poppy seeds & green chilies in a grinder by adding
a little bit of water.
3. Now take a bowl,
add the grated coconut and the paste (you have just made), add a bit of salt
and turmeric powder. Make a fine mixture.
4. Cover and keep the
fishes and the mixture in the fridge for at least an hour.
5. After an hour, take
them out of the fridge.
6. Wash the banana
leaves properly and toast them at medium flame. By toasting these leaves, it
will ensure you do not crack when you fold them.
7. Now put the glossy
side of the leaves up over a plate, brush a bit of oil on it. Now put a
teaspoon of paste in the middle of the leaf and place a piece of fish, then put
another teaspoon of paste on the fish so as to cover the fish.
8. Now fold the banana
leaf like the way we wrap gifts and tie it with thread ,so it will not get open
while cooking. Repeat the process.
9. Now heat a pan and
put some oil on it. Now add the wrapped fishes(you can add 3-4 pieces at a
time) to the pan and cover the pan with a heavy lid & cook on a medium
flame for 10-15 minutes. Repeat it.
10. Now your bhetki
paturi is ready to serve.
