Introduction

Aloo posto is a popular traditional bengali light spicy recipe. It’s an easy and quick veg recipe. You can make it any time at home. The Posto(poppy seeds) aroma will surely make you fall in love with it.  


Ingredients

  • mustard oil
  • Dried red chillies
  • potatoes (cut into diced pieces)
  • posto (poppy seeds)
  • green chili paste
  • salt

method


  1. To prepare aloo posto (poppy seeds), soak poppy seeds in water for 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. Now grind, soak posto (poppy seeds) , make a fine paste.
  3. Heat mustard oil in a pan. Add two dried red chilies. 
  4. Now fry the potatoes , add salt (as per taste) and turmeric powder. Fry until the potatoes become light golden brown.
  5. Now add posto (poppy seeds) paste and green chili paste to the pan . Stir well.
  6. Now add 1 cup boiled water and cover the pan with a lid.
  7. Now, open the lid, the water gets dried and turns off the flame.
  8. Garnish with sliced green chili
  9. Its ready to serve.

How to serve


  You can serve it with hot steamed rice or roti or luchi, which you prefer.
